Flint the Black Field Lab. He has a very strong drive to work. I don't duck hunt, used to do dove and quail. But I'm too lazy. I take him out to the desert and mountains to chase the ball. Very smart and he has training to hunt. He's a gentle badass. Attached File |

Yellow lab. Well we think she’s a lab. She’s a rescue. She’s my first hunting dog but I’ve been working with a trainer since we got her as a pup in September and she seems to have really taken to it. Grouse season starts 9/1 and we’ll be out for the first time. I can’t wait. |

I have owned an Irish Setter, several Champion Gordon Setters, and Cocker Spaniels, especially Chocolate Cocker Spaniels. I loved them all and they would hunt until they dropped if you let them. However, the Gordons were the best hunters and most loyal. Pound for pound, the most intelligent of the hunting breeds. A local gun club even rented Guss when they got a special request. He was an American and Canadian Champion. He excelled with pheasant, grouse, and ducks. Guss would find birds that the other dogs missed. When there were no more birds to be found, he would go back to the clubhouse on his own. He knew he had done his job. Everyone knew it was time to break out the beer. |
