what is a good size for a get home bag to have.
I see so many different brands and sizes online and cannot make up my mind.
Wallyworld has a decent one on sale right now for $30.
It has a pouch for a water bladder and place to hold trekking poles.

I searched for a link here and cannot find it any more.

Camelbak Motherlode is the bomb.  I'm a big fan of CB products, well made, great hydration system and reasonalbly priced.  Search around for one in DCU, guys are dumping that pattern for cheap.

I'm currently using a newer style MOLLE patrol pack for my GHB. It wears well and has enough room for a day or two worth of stuff without being too large. I throw it in the car whenever I go out of town, just in case. It was also free (given to me), so no need to buy something else.

BTW, there's a member here who has the MOLLE patrol packs in DCU for around $20. I can guarantee it beats the quality of any WalMart pack (for the price, anyway).

Youre saying a member here sells them for $20.
Do you have a name?

OK I was slightly mistaken: they're woodland camo, and $18+$4 shipping, but he states he'll cut you a deal if you buy several.

HERE

He does have DCU main packs for $20 shipped though. HERE

Those are no good without the frame and straps, plus they are huge.  I think the OP is looking more for a 3 day pack type?  The DCU Assault Pack is an excellent low cost choice, almost as good as the Camelbak I listed above.....

Another +1 for Camelbak products.

ETA: That is if you plan on using it, if it's just going to sit in your closet, or trunk then something cheaper would be fine I'm sure. I use an old Jansport backpack for my GHB since it just sits in my car 24/7. I usually have my camelbak with me though when I go anywhere.
