I'm taking the family tent camping today and tomorrow.  I haven't been in about 5 years and the wife and kids have never been.  Roughing it to the wife is a B&W TV and no hair drier in a 2 star hotel.  LOL

Luckily its in a State park so I can just go out on the lake if it gets to bad.

Pray for me and my sanity.

Thank God I have ear plugs to help drown out the bitching.

Thanks guys.

We got back last night about 1900 after a day of fun and fishing.

When we got to the site the kids ran off and left me and the wife to set up camp.  She had no idea how to put the tent up or anything else for that matter.  With some instruction everything was up and running in short time.

She and the kids wasn't to enthused about cooking over a fire pit or the fact that I said that there wasn't any TV or game boys allowed for the 2 days we were there, just go ol' non modern fun.

The night went well even though it got down to the low 40's during the night, nothing a bunch of blankets couldn't fix though.  It rained off and on for most of the night and was rather cool in the morning when I started the fire for breakfast.  My youngest son (8) didn't want to get out of bed and go to the bathroom because it was cold out and he had to walk about 100 yards.  I think his bladder finally told him to get up and go.

After breakfast clean up and taking the camp down, we spent the rest of the day in a different part of the park fishing and running around.

All in all it went well and the wife said that she would like to do it again sometime.

Little does she know we have reservations for 7-13 through 7-18.  HAHA

Nice.  Sounds like it went pretty well.  How old are your kids?  Depending on their ages I have a few activities that you may want to introduce on your next trip.  Take care.
