I have a Stearns from Wal-Mart that works good. Of course, I have my LL Bean Gore Tex for work, but the Stearns is ok for the money.

Thanks for the help , I ended up going for one of these marmot.com/spring_2008/mens/outerwear/shells/precip_jacket
Seemed like the best bang for my buck , and only 13 ounces .

Not a bad price for a rain jacket.  ($99)  Just get back with us after you have to use it.  I'm curious if it will really hold up after a few days in hard rain.

North Face HyVent has failed on me.  After that I switched to Arcteryx.  Spent 3 long days in the rain just south of New York on the AT and never got wet/damp.
