I tried this out in my backyard and everything locks up solid but man I can not hold it as steady as I imagined. I could get a decent group but every few shots id have a really bad flier. There must be a trick i dont know if because off a bipod this rifle is very accurate.   |
| Right off the bat: if those legs have any adjustment left, spread the feet out more for greater stability. Shooting well with a tripod is whole other skill set. What's your stance like? |

Originally Posted By 50-140: The first reason I can think of is on a tripod as opposed to a bipod, you can't load it. And you have to minimize movement of your whole body. OP, rest some of your bodyweight on the tripod with your support hand. It helps steady you and minimize movement. |
| Shooting off a tripod is a whole nother skill to be learned. You’d think it would be super stable, but because the rifle is only clipped in at one point, all of your inputs on the back of the gun cause it to move. Keep in mind you’ll likely have a zero shift as well. |

It’s definitely not as easy for me as what it looks like on YouTube. Idk how much is tripod and how Much is my bad forum. I have a deathgrip that i converted with a lcgw adapter to a ballhead. It seems like its a rock untill i lay my gorilla mits on it. I use the same ballhead mount in a blind for thermal hunting and it works outstanding |

Couple things for you to try. 1 use a sling. Connect one end to forearm. Connect other end to your belt. Step on middle with your foot to create tension. Prob a lot of YouTube videos where you can see people demonstrating technique 2 don’t use the arca rail. Yeah I know it’s cool. It’s built into your forearm. But it sucks for shooting. Take your game changer bag and throw it on top of ball head. Then run your gun on top of bag just like you would on any other barricade. It’s way faster and more solid. However don’t leave it alone or the wind or something will knock your rifle off and do the old chest high drop test. |

Establish natural point of aim, and give the gun as little input as possible. You’d be shocked if I showed you how little input and pressure I put on the gun while shooting off a tripod. You’re on the right track, practice shooting groups at 100 off the tripod, or even better, setup a .22lr practice rig and shoot it off a tripod. |

I've found the Arca rail to get in the way when shooting offhand or just carrying the rifle at the ready. A saddle, in my experience, is considerably more stable and faster to mount/dismount. I'm going to have to take your advice and try just throwing my Game Changer Bag on top. I'm carrying it if I have the tripod anyway. |

| For what it's worth, I took off the ball head and saddle on my tripod and just used the Game Changer Bag. Plenty stable and more versatile since I can throw a spotting scope or binoculars on top just as easily. Losing the weight of the ball head is likewise appreciated, as I do carry this tripod in the mountain. |

I may or may not have all of those items, plus some skateboard tape for the top.  I'll try it out with the just the bag and tripod and see how that turns out. If it needs improvement, I'll spin up a tac table. |

I can lean into rifle and shift my hips back to lock it in tight. |
