I have a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in 308 (Short Action) and want to convert it to an AICS (Magpul) detachable magazine feed system from the current "BDL" style hinged floor plate. I have bought the Christensen Arms BA Tactical Stock and Christensen Arms Tactical bottom metal compatible with AICS magazines. I am able to install the Remington 700 SPS Tactical into the new CA stock and can install the new bottom metal without complication. Unfortunately when I attempt to use either Christensen Arms or Magpul AICS magazines it appears to not seat fully or lock into the magazine release. It looks like there is a metal protrusion on the bottom of the Remington 700 receiver that is causing interference. Does the Remington 700 SPS Tactical require the receiver to be modified to work or is this due to the incorrect bottom metal? |
