I have a Tikka t3x in an MDT chassis that is a blast to shoot. However it's too long for most of my rifle bags and I'd like something I can throw in a backpack. Anyone have a ~16" 6.5 Creedmoor with a folding stock setup? Aiming for around a $1000 setup before optics. AICS mags preferred. |

How about a Howa 1500 Superlite in one of the numerous available chassis - possibly an MDT with their folding adapter? I've been considering a similar rifle as it would be very handy. |

He was a Montana guy and used them to great effect out there. FWIW a lot of Weatherby's stuff used to be made by Howa - not sure what the current status there is. |

| Howas are great rifles, I think they are underappreciated, especially in the hunting space. I've had 2 Howa Minis in 6arc, one in their little chassis. They both shoot really well. I set up a Superlight in 308 for a buddy, and it shoots lights out. He's already killed two elk and a blacktail with it. |

Shot and sighted it in for the first time this morning off of tripods with my 6-18. An eye problem had me seeing two crosshairs but the initial 5-round group wasn't terrible even so.    |

| Pretty much. Fever blisters on your eyeball don't help to make tight groups, at all. Not that I can shoot worth a crap anyway. We'll find a better marksman for a final answer on barrel accuracy. (He's 86 and just wanted a new toy.) |

I'm trying to get the non Superlite due to the comment above. I don't really know how to interpret it and I'd rather have a regular or heavy barrel. |
