I have coon hanging around and eating out of my bird feeders at night. I have sunflower seed in 2 feeders and he was sitting on top of one the other night munching away

i already killed a possum with my mark II that was coming around due to the sunflower seed, he came in the garage and would not leave so i had to put him down.

I am amazed that mammals like coons and possums like to eat sunflower seed hulls and all.  They love the shit out of it

so i am wondering if i should get a trap and relocate him or take him out somehow? It probably wont be long before he tries to get in the garage or attic somehow.

Try mixing red pepper seeds with the bird food. The birds won't eat them, if they do they won't bother them, racoon should be put off by the taste.

If I where you I'd probably Mark II him!!!  If that's not an option then get a live catch trap and turn him loose far away from your home.

Where in GA?

It's fur bearer trapping season.

Conibear 220 trap.  (Can make it dog proof by modifying a 5 gallon bucket and elevating it.)  Put marshmallows in toward the back, maybe some catfood if there aren't any cats around.

If the bird feeder is on a post staple a conabear to the post and put shielding around it so the coon has to go up through the trap to get up the post, works like a charm.
