Anyone do enough potatoes that they have 3 point tillage equipment? I have some disc hillers (Agri supply) I have to get installed on a Ferguson cultivator, and looking at setting up a middle buster/furrower as well. I’d love to see what setups are out there. |

We have a 18" potato plow from Everything Attachments. We use it to dig a furrow or planting and then harvesting. We also uuse a hiller that i think can from there as well. The potato plow was well worth the expense! I can't believe we used to dig by hand. Last year we planted about 220 pounds of seed. This year only 100. |

We use a center potato plow for creating the shallow furrow for planting and then digging later. Never used anything but a hoe for hilling, but thinking about it now i don't think I'd necessarily want to use a machine for that, just because I can do a pretty nice job with a hoe. These days we plant two rows, each about 100 yards long.

Currently use a hoss double wheel hoe to furrow and hill. I’ve got a potato plow but most of the time we hand dig with a potato fork. Currently working on getting a farmall cub set up for cultivating and hilling. I’ve got everything it’s just sat for 20 years so getting it started has been an adventure (stuck valve, starter rebuild, rust in tank etc) but I’m on the home stretch. The cub will be dedicated to cultivating and hilling so the kubota can stay on bushhog, loader work, plow and disc duty. |
