Any suggestions for a packable day pack? I have a trip overseas and plan to do several day hikes, 1-3 miles, and explore some towns so I'd like to throw some snacks and a water bottle or two into a pack. Bonus points for water bladder capable. Current front runner is the MR In and Out 22 Thoughts? |

Pardon my stupid but... "packable day pack?" Isn't that what you do with a day pack? You pack it and take it out for a day. Or maybe you pack it along with you. I'm so confused... |

Yep, a pack I can ball up and throw in the bottom of another backpack. I have a travel backpack with meds, cables, pens, etc. and need something that is empty to throw some water bottles into and do some light hiking. Thanks for the suggestions. Currently really liking the In and Out 21 by Mystery Ranch, but the shoulder straps make me nervous with how unpadded they are.. |

Of course, being so light, I'll have to see how that screws up the balance. |

Well the pack worked well. I had it loaded up pretty well (volume, not weight) and it did fine. The shoulder straps once or twice kinda cut into my shoulders but using the chest strap helped. Definitely did not work well with the 40oz insulated bottle full on one side. It annoyed me for a while until I just started stuffing the bottle in the main compartment and used a small bottle in the side. I like that it doesn't have a ton of pockets to get stuff lost in. |
