if i can include my pond and my neighbor's pond (neighbor leases property and gave me access/full use of spring fed pond) as part of my stash, then yes.  the other type of storage of non potable water would be rainwater that is captured in barrels.

I will be putting up 60 gallons tomorrow. When the last power outtage happened, I had lots and lots of drinking water, and nothing to flush the toilet with! I am going to clean out 15gallon barrels I will be using and make sure the water is at least clean enough to wash with as well as flushing and other chores.

Since I don't have a heated garage, the crawl space will have to suffice for 3 out of the 4 barrels. It will be heavy (120lbs) to get them out, but I will put a pulley in to make it easier.

Sure, you can quickly make it potable with a reverse osmosis filter.

Now at Sam's for $138!
