I know some of you guys have built/bought HF man packs for off grid comms. I LOVE the Elecraft radios design (don't have any personal experience with this rig) and would be interested in seeing any HF man pack set ups for inspiration (especially any Elecraft builds). Show 'em off!!

I use a surplus Harris Falcon 2 pack for my Icom 706 mk2g or my Yaesu 710. I also have a Retevis Rt-95 setup in a sling bag from Amazon. I will DM you with a few videos I made on them.

I have that pack and have been questioning how I’d add a radio securely. How do the connectors do on the backs of radios? How do you secure the radios? I have an ic7300 or 897d that could be added.

It's been a decade or so since I made mine. Basically an FT857 on an Alice pack, some cheap batteries, and a folding whip. Oh...and a handset adapter. :-D

Need details. I have an X6100 also, and mostly use it for digital modes (js8call mostly). I'm trying to refine a manpack for this use case.

More like a portable bag now but an IC-703+, batteries, Dell 7139 w/ battery-KB dock and a Digimode-4 interface for FT8, etc.

I'd like to build one with a KX3 or 599 some day.

It is a couple of base loaded whips for 20m and 17m from indonesia, a counterpoise wire that gator clips the the bnc connector, and an extra battery pack. It all fits in a "tactical water bottle holder" off amazon.
