Wow... Impressive thread resurrection! I didn't know such a thing was even possible.
If only we could get a redo from the date of the OP and forget about the last 12 years. 
On topic... I found out about the show because of ARFCOM and thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't post as much on here back then.  I got the Part 3 and Part 4 comics a while ago. Read 3 but haven't read 4 yet. Getting to be about time for me to do another re-watch! RIP Jericho...

yea I wish they would continue on with Jericho video series
I thought it was good tv! a few things in there as a maybe.. but if they had a better team of advisors for the tv series.. then maybe a reboot or remake.. I always hated that they had to bounce on the story line... I would to have made the day zero last a whole season!! or longer! every ones point of view of the same day! almost as good as the movie "the stand" "old capt. trips" is kicking butt in jina!! and now moving to the states! watch wait look and listen all good words to live by |

Man a blast from the past. What a good series that should have had a run on a more cable tv type network where it run for 10 episodes a season. The 2 seasons could have been a great 3 season run with great cliffhangers and premieres. I would have cut it like so: Season 1 should have been S1 Episode 1 to 11 Season 2 should have been S1 Episode 12 to 22 Season 3 should have been S2 Episode 1 to 7 |

As a Kansan that show annoyed me to no end. Opening part of season 1 Denver gets a small nuke and you can see the mushroom cloud in Western Kansas? Nope that about 200 miles away. S1 E1The sign that gives mileage mileage to KC and Wichita. Based on the map Les posted that sign cannot exist in the state of Kansas. Again S1 E1. You can see the Rocky Mountains from western Kansas. No you can’t. All those cars and not a sinkhole liscensce plate frame or wi Dow sticker for KU, K State, WSU, Ft Hays state (which would be within 150 miles or so same for no Chiefs or Broncos stuff. Town bar? Same thing. Place is basically sterile. Thy is not what the entrance to a producing salt mine looks like. So many holes in the show I still loved it!!! |

Good show. Next year will be 20 years since it debuted. There was no streaming back then and the big three networks still dominated tv. For a major network show I thought it was well done, good acting and writing. Jericho had a lot of interesting things to say about post-9/11, post-Katrina life in America. That stuff was still very recent. Not just survival and dealing with threats, but how society and the rule of law get tested. Suspension of due process and civil liberties, ratting on your friends and neighbors, privatization of the military. My favorite line from the show is when the two brothers go to the neighboring town hospital to get supplies and find out the private contractors are there. “What are mercenaries doing in Kansas?” “Same thing they’ve been doing in Iraq and New Orleans.” |

Jennings & Rall, the company and its PMC subsidiary (Ravenwood) was a stand-in for Halliburton. The character Thomas Valente (former Director of US Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was tasked with covering up Jennings & Rall's connection to the stolen nuclear warheads used in the September attacks) was a caricature of Vice President Dick Cheney. Jennings & Rall was even HQed in Wyoming, Cheney's home state for a reason. A lot of the political commentary back then was that Bush was going to stay in office, suspend the Constitution, revoke due process, etc. People watching it after the fact,bling after the fact, won't catch that because they weren't part of the political zeitgeist of that era. Much like Red Dawn. It has morphed into something else from its original intended goal. John Mill is even stated that Red Dawn was at its core, and anti-war film. But it isn't viewed as one. Same with Rambo. |

My second-favorite line from the show is when the fake US Marines come to town and everyone thinks they're saved. But Johnston Green and some of the others suspect it's not right and confront them. There's an armed standoff, everyone is pointing guns at each other. Mayor Green says: "With ammunition in such short supply, I doubt those weapons are even loaded." Phony Marine: "You wanna take that chance?" Mayor Green: "I know damn well this one is." |

I liked the show too from a prepping perspective, ideas on things I could add to what I have, things not to do, stupid stuff that people do. I enjoyed, wished they would have continued it, but for its time it was good, not sure how well it would play out now. I remember thinking, I need to add more salt to my storage, so I did. |

My wife actually suggested rewatching this series again this year. This show was one way I was able to get her a little more interested in preparedness. |

I research a potential new watch first, and I've skipped numerous series because they dropped it after the second or third season without a decent resolution, etc. Waste of my time really. |
