I saw this the other day. Hopefully they will get Ameritron up and running again soon. The price of used HF amplifiers when out of sight when MFJ closed their doors. |

I grabbed a couple remote tuners when I heard the news and hope I never have to pull them out of storage. I opened up the one in service for the first time in six years and it was nearly pristine inside, save for a couple small spider webs. Pretty impressive given how harsh AZ mountain weather can be. Never had any troubles with them though I have to imagine the relays will go at some point. |

My main tube amps are 1ea L7 and L75 (equivalent to an AL-82 and AL-80A, respectively) and I have backups of each. They're also pretty rugged and as long as I can get a supply of 3-500Zs I'll keep running them. If I was looking for a new 2-holer it would be an Ameritron. |
