We just spent several days camping, Glacier Basin Campground, in RMNP and the constant beeping and flashing that cars do everytime you open a door, a hatch, or lock/unlock is excessive in such a small space. Anyone else experience this or know of a personal workaround in campgrounds? |
| Our WK2s have options in the menu to turn off most of that. It's minimally annoying at campgrounds, but hugely annoying at drive-in theaters. I generally don't have to go in my vehicle for much while camping once we've gotten setup. |

I know everyone else hates it, but my F250 pisses me off every time it honks the horn when I close the door with the key in my pocket whilst I am in process of setting up or hooking up the camper. It would be nice if I could shut that off. I get that it's all done for "safety", but I was born in the 70s and we didn't need no stinking helmets and we drank from the hose without a filter!! Grrrr |

Grrrr I was actually able to turn that off in the settings on my Chevy. So glad I did. ETA: Wish my headlights wouldn't turn on when I unlock the SUV at night while camping. Never fails to blast the campsites with my headlights and I hate that. |

Forscan will probably fix the Ford annoyances. OBDJscan, AlfaOBD can modify settings for lights for Mopars. No idea on GM, never investigated that platform. |

As has been mentioned, most of the flashing and beeping stuff can be turned off in the menu/settings for most vehicles. Of course your fellow campers probably won't bother but you can at least not 'that guy'. Toyota is courteous enough to use a quiet "peep, peep" instead of honking the vehicle's horn. |
