I just purchased an RRA Entry Tactical from a dealer. The only documentation I received was the warranty card and the standard US. Army AR-15 operators guide. Is this normal for RRA? I would have thought RRA would have included their own manual showing their weapon and details. I am a little dissappointed in the lack of documentation. Maybe I am mistaken. I have never purchased a gun where the manufacturer didn't include their own docs. The ar seems like a fine purchase. I do have some questions about scopes though. The unit I bought (1251x) came with the the standard removeable carry handle. What do I have to do to mount an EOTech scope on this rifle, or better yet, what type of mounts are needed for various scopes. I can't seem to locate a lot of info. about this. This is my first AR type weapon. I may be overlooking some things here, but it seems like a maze of info. for a beginner... Salty |

For the Eotech you can just remove the carry handle and attach the Eotech directly to the top rail. You'll probably want to get a back up iron sight (BUIS) to go behind the Eotech. As for other types of scopes/optics, there are many different mounts depending on what you go with. Just spend some time in the AR technical discussion section on this site and you'll learn a lot!! Congrats on the new rifle and just have some fun with it!! After you clean it of course.

The GI manual is shipped with all of our rifles. The various mounting options are almost infinite, depending on the optic to be munted, where you want to put it, and hw you want to mount it. The Standard A2carry handle would require a second mount, whether mounting on top, or goose-necking forward and down to place the optic over the handguard. The Tac Mt is primarily for red dot sights in a low ring so the sights show up in the lower portion of the optic. The Dominator is primarily for EOTechs, and was designed to put the dot out of perfect co-witness and elevate it to clear up the sight picture. The various Aimpoinbt mounts normally go directly on to the A4 receiver, as do any of the EOTechs as their base is designed for flat-top co-witness. Magnifying optics change things a bit, as you have to factor in eye relief, clearances for the bells of the scope, height of ring (no two companies that I know of use the same measurements for L/M/H), etc.... Hope that helps a little bit. As others have already pointed out, the Optics forum is a good source of info etc... Steve/RRA |
