Believe it or not, I only have 4 Colt AR15 barrels. Three have the same marking, it could be a "W" or it could be an "M" depending how you look at it, and one has a "G". So here's the pictures. 6720 barrel.  Another 6720 barrel.  20" A4 barrel.  6940 barrel.

Finally managed to be curious enough to get pictures and ask (I got the 6940 back in 2009, so it was in the back of my mind for a while  ). I knew the barrels were stamped with some kind of mark, but I never bothered to look into it.For whatever it's worth, the Green Mountain barrel on the 6940 has been the more accurate of the 3, but that might not be entirely related to the barrel because the upper is free floated with a monolithic rail (6940s have been known to be pretty accurate). Though my only other Green Mountain barrel which is a 20" A2 gov't profile barrel from Windham Weaponry (which I believe were known to be green mountain barrels) has had better accuracy than the Colt 20" A4 barrel I have. Of course my testing is skewed by using nothing but the best when it comes to accuracy (M855).
