Recently, we here at Brownell’s started selling our own branded lower receivers. Forged from 7075 T6 Aluminum and finished in matte black Type III Hardcoat Anodizing to adhere to MIL-A-8625, these lowers use Mil-Spec dimensions across the board to allow you maximum versatility with part selection. Additionally, they have the upper to lower tensioner screw to eliminate rattle. All at a great price of $99.99.   These lowers come in what others in the industry would call, “stealth.” What that means is, there aren’t any large, obnoxious logos on the receiver, especially the magazine well. If you’re looking for something to make your own by means of engraving, this is the lower for you.    Ironically, I was approached to do this article right as I was in the middle of a new AR build, using someone else’s lower. I felt like Patrick Bateman looking at that business card as I looked between the BRN-15 lower and the one I had used. “It even has an ‘auto’ mark on the selector, nice” I said to myself.  All in all, it’s a solid foundation upon which to build your next AR 15. Personally, I now have an excuse to start ANOTHER build after I finish working out the kinks in the current one, and I know anyone else who buys one of these will love them too.
