MK6 and MK7 are still a go. Magpul approached with the M-LOK system and we put the MK6/7 on hold to focus on getting this right. So we will be switching focus back soon. The current KeyMod rails being offered will not be dropped, they will all continue to be available. Hope this clears some things up!

MK6 is the full quad rail.

MK7 is the National Match Rail.  It will have removable weights and be around 2 lbs

Hey a MK4 weight 15" M-Loc would be great....Key Mod is not the end all of technology thats for sure.

Everytime a rail comes out they are changing and working on a new one so  just gonna wait it out.
I really want to see the mk6.

Is it me or does the rail sections on the mk8 look thicker than the keymod?

Word. Waiting on some specs. Weight and OD being key.

Can't wait to see this.

Knowing Geissele quality, if it comes in a 9.5 ( ) it will be my new goto rail for sbrs.

Can you drop a little hint? Like in what lengths will it be offered? Or when you will let me buy one from you....

Or if you will multicam anodize a rail for me...

Are you referring to QD sling sockets?

The rail looks great. Any chance at getting a look at the cross section of the rail? I'm always interested in the overall shape or profile (round vs oval) etc.
7/16/2014 7:15:59 PM EDT
[#46]
If QD sockets, yes the MK6 will have them toward the back.  Will also be able to put on our accy 45deg QD sockets

Reminds me of the Troy MRF that I used to have on one of my S&Ws. Not bad looking, I do like the rectangle and kidney shaped cutouts on the MK2, Mk3, MK4 etc... better. That's what makes a Geissele rail look like a Geissele rail. The rail in the pics doesn't look like a Geissele rail. Make sense?

My hunch is I think there will be some changes seeing the MK7 was purposely trying to be on the heavy side. I can see the MK6 offering more cutouts to lose weight and follow the other rails before it.

7/17/2014 4:49:03 PM EDT
[#50]
Perfect sense.  Round holes are there to leave the Max amount of weight possible on the rail and get some cooling.  Even though the cooling is partially blocked by the internal lead weights
