 Got my dark earth Magpul gear today.  I need to pick up a receiver extension for the stock. I understand that I need a regular rifle receiver extension, but not the A2 spacer. My question is: are there commercial and mil-spec versions of the rifle receiver extension, or all they all the same diameter? If they're different, who makes the one I need? Thanks. |
For rifle receiver extensions, there is no comspec/milspec like there is for carbine receiver extensions. |
Actually there are two different versions. Good news is they both will work with the PRS. The difference is the finish. Mil spec has a dull, gray, teflon finish where as the commercial tubes have a slightly shiny, black, hard anno finish Mil spec is the more expensive of the two. |

I could understand concern for finish if it were a carbine receiver extension, but since the rifle receiver extension is completely hidden, it's a moot point for me. Thanks for the input, guys.  I'm looking forward to finishing this .458 SOCOM build. |
