| Ive never assembled a upper from all parts, and I have purchased a F marked front sight post that i picked up locally today.. I also picked up two tapered roll pins for the sight. My question is how am i to install the sight since the sight has no holes drilled for the tapered pins. I thought they came pre drilled if not, then i may have to re-asess my thoughts about the fixed sight post situation... |

You have to have it sent somewhere like adco or maybe a local shop to have it installed then drilled for the taper pins. Just be sure to use a trustworthy place or you could possibly end up with a hole into your bore or a canted FSB which could cause cycle issues if canted bad enough. I have never used one, but armalite has a FSB that is installed via set screws.. But even that is good to have "flats" milled into the barrel ...
Heres a link for that stuff.. I'm assuming this is ok to post since to my knowledge PSA doesn't offer shop services outside buying a barrel assembly. ADCO Shop Services |

The FSB has to be custom mated to the barrel by drilling the holes for the taper pins.
There are some do it yourself jigs out there, but they are not foolproof. Most folks who casually assemble at home either get a barrel with the fsb already pinned, or they go with a clamp on gas block. |
