Can you forward me your response from KAC please?
My natural immediate response is that if the lowers are out of dimension we should be replacing them for you.
The only issue with me responding with that is that I don't have the details and I don't want to put my foot in my mouth.
Just as a general FYI:
The lowers, just like our standard ambi lowers, are dimensioned off of standard aluminum GI magazine dimensions.
Part of the problem is that not all magazines are created equal, and this covers every AR magazine type and manufacturer; not pointing a finger at any manufacturer in particular in any way.
We did indeed have an issue with the broaching operation in a small percentage of the 017 serial number range, which once identified was corrected.
Any lower that comes back for empty magazine drop free problems goes to our QA department for evaluation, and the final step of that evaluation (if passing everything else) is a check with a few different magazines that are at the top end in some critical dimension tolerance in an effort to ensure that they are good to go.
It may seen counter-intuitive, but the machining process for the TDP style lowers is different than that of our standard production lowers, so there is no direct parallel comparison of process for the two different lower receiver types.
Aaaaaaaaaaanyway, the point of this is that we have been here eating our portion of crow over these, and if something is genuinely wrong, we want to fix it and have happy customers.
If it makes anyone feel any better about it, it is extremely unlikely that we will do another run of these, making those sweet Everman clones even more cool.
