How do you move the battery cap lanyard for the extender installation?

Got the extender (thank you!), but I'm curious as to how we keep the lanyard!?

You will need a new lanyard string. Those battery cap lanyards are not removable...

Spoke with IR defense about the lanyard and they indicated that if you leave it on your risk getting caught in the brush so they're looking for options!
