The Fedex truck delivered my new AR15 upper & lower kit the other day. I disassembled it to clean it up. However, the retaining pin for the firing pin is way tight, so tight that I cannot push it all the way back in with my finger. I finally got it seated all the way. Any suggetions? This thing is wayyyyy tight. A friend of mine that owns & has built several AR's said that he has never seen one that tight. Thanks |

The one that came with my Expedition kit spread open at the end. I could sqeeze it together and get it through the first hole, but then it'd spread open again before it'd enter the other hole. What a pain! I had to slide a very small drill bit between the two legs of the pin almost all the way down, spreading the ends even futher apart, then put it on an anvil and mash the two ends back together with a hammer (which made it look kinda bow-legged). Then it went back in all the way with the help of a small mallet and wooden dowel rod. Bottom line: I'm not taking it out again until I have a replacement.......I wonder where I can get one? (hint, hint) |
| Replacement Firing Pin Retaining Pin never received! I left a msg for you with the gal that answered the phone. I also emailed twice within the last 3 weeks. If you want to send me an email, send it to [email protected]. Thanks!! |
