I was wondering what kind of testing Colt does before they ship their sticks from the factory. I was deplyed to the UAE when we got a brand new shipment of M4's. Never fired. I left and am back. These guns were never fired at all. When we got our M4's at my home base it took a couple hundred rounds to break them in. Just want to be ready if anythig should happen. Thanks

For new DOD weapons the bolts and barrels are proof fired to start with.  After assembly they go through an accuracy test, zerored, and are fired on auto or burst to make sure cyclic rate meets specs.

Rebuilds don't go through any of this, and kinda look new because there is no finish wear on the bolt face, carrier, etc.  So sounds to me like you have rebuilds.

I cant remember who told me, but I was told that every Colt rifle that leaves the factory has been test fired with three 30 round magazines

While I don't know how many rounds Colt test fires, I have never received a new Colt that did not show that it was not fired. All showed evidence of it being done.
