Wrapping up a MH1 dual tube night vision set built from a customer supplied PVS14. Customer called up with the specifications on his tube. While it was a lower grade xls tube he had gotten elsewhere for his 14, the specs on the tube (considering xls) were pretty good. We have no xls grade tubes but were able to find an exact match in the better SLH grade tube. As a bonus the 2nd tube had better Ebi numbers. We got the customer's PVS14 in yesterday morning and started work on it later in the day. Customer's PVS14 purchased elsewhere has some debris in field and we cleaned that up while starting on the conversion. When we first talked to the customer we had several tubes that matched what he needed. We usually keep a pretty large tube inventory, so finding close matches usually isn't a problem. We had two that were close that were just received. Going off the data sheet info, one tube looked slightly better in cosmetics than the other. As often happens a data sheet will show clean but the tube will have some pepper speck, other cosmetic issues, etc. One tube had a pepper speck in Zone 2 that to me, I didn't like how it looked in the system. We sent the customer tube pics and then sent tube pics of the other tube which also has a pepper speck/small spot but it's farther out. Customer opted for that one and I believe this was the best choice.  Unit just came off the Hoffman, we will test more tonight and it will be on it's way out to the customer tomorrow morning. 2 days roughly start to finish. We can do this conversion with either two customer supplied PVS14s or if the customer only has one PVS14 we can usually find a close matching tube quickly and provide that with other necessary components. Unit finished up, tested again last night, pics sent to customer. And will be on it's way to him today, 2 day turnaround from receiving.  Loving the FDE!!
