So I just ordered this sight, and needless to say I am very excited to receive it and put it on my rifle and try it out . I have a MD-08 micro red dot, and LOVE it. I was blown away by the quality, and feel of it. I was holding my breathe, even after reading countless threads about everyone's impressions and glowing praise of it as I am usually very hesitant to jump on a band wagon or believe everyone's praises. Now I realize I should of never had any doubt. Which is what led me to buy this new 4X optic.
Now back to my question(s).... I know when shooting the Micro you are to leave both eyes open. Does the same apply for this sight, even though it is magnified? Also, when shooting, am I supposed to leave the front sight post in the down position and only use the optic instead of flipped up? I have seen that you do not co-witness magnified optics, so I would assume the answer is yes, down, but just want to clarify. Marshall, yall make a great product and I am very pleased to recommend yall whenever I can. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric Update: Got the Optic in yesterday. Man am I impressed!! The packaging alone is worth $250. The overall design, build, and quality is very impressive. The reticle very clear and will be very valuable while shooting. I plan to take the gun out this weekend to the ranch, sight it in, and test some of the holds. I will report back with my findings! I am very excited to try it out and shoot with it! |

You can have the front sight down or up. At 4x, I don't believe you will see it either way.
When using magnified optics, use one eye. If you're hyper dominant on one side such as myself, you can leave both eyes open. I can shoot both eyes open using 25x if I needed to, but that's not always a good thing.
