Should you need a bipod if you are running an Aimpoint instead of magnification?

I think you need a light and a sling before you need a bi-pod.

The Boonie Packer 2P-TQA (which the Vickers VCAS is, ahem, "based upon", cough) with M4 Kit is also a decent option.
