I emailed him and he quickly replied: Thank you for your inquiry! Current project status: I'm having two of each metal 3D printed - 1 set for for photos/demo and 1 set for Chad Albrecht of SOTAR to do a review video, which will drive pre-sale orders. I already have about 20 of them sold, but I'd like to pre-sell over 100 of each to get the machined (or printed) cost down. Then I can over-order to keep the cost down and have inventory. We do plan on getting more M7, just waiting on Colt's production. They are still listed, just out of stock, when we receive more the listings are visible. I believe they will be more available in 2025, we may order special order some FDE 13" or something like that... |

The barrel extensions for the M5/M7/6940 are different from typical AR barrel extensions, the pin is part of the receiver and keys into a slot in the extension. Barrels themselves aren't any different. Specialized Armament sells 6940 extensions. |

I think you answered the question, without a ready source of barrels some people may want to remove their barrel to get it chopped down and re threaded, possibly. I also read somewhere before where someone stated their barrel nut shot lose from the factory. That would be my guesses. |
| Barrels have been available in the past from Brownells. I've only seen the 16" barrel for sale. |

I finally received a tracking number yesterday—20 days after placing my order. The barrel nut wasn’t even that important to me, but other items in the order were delayed as well, so I emailed multiple times requesting a cancellation. They never responded. Then, when the tracking finally updated and I replied to the automated email, they had the audacity to demand a restocking fee. When I expressed my frustration by saying, "I wish you'd responded sooner", they shot back with, "I wished we had received your email sooner. Maybe we could have been able to cancel the order." |
| I thought about canceling my order because I also have no immediate use for the wrench but ,because i try to keep a collection of Ar tools just in case .I do have five 6940 style uppers and an m5 carbine ,so it may eventually be needed |

Arms Unlimited dropped a video of the wrench yesterday on their YouTube channel, under "Shorts" if you go looking for it. They use a Real Avid reaction rod and a ratchet wrench too short for the job. The wrench may be good. It appears to be machined from a solid billet where the Arrington Accuracy product was 2 pieces welded together. The Arrington product sold for about $99 from Brownells depending on the version you bought. How AU make any money at $49.99 is hard to understand if the wrench is any good. Tracking # but not picked up only means they printed a shipping label, could go out today or 2 weeks from now knowing AU. |

They had no problem ignoring my emails when I asked for a cancellation, but now that they’ve got my money, they suddenly reply in record time—just to tell me I won’t get a refund until they receive the item they never even shipped. I love Colt products, but it’s beyond infuriating that a company like Arms Unlimited is one of their biggest dealers. Their customer service is a joke, their business practices are shady, and their respect for their customers is nonexistent. |

Same for me, had this tracking # for 3 days but item still waiting to be picked up. Why not email out the tracking # after item has been picked up lol? Their business practices are shady, their communication is poor. Unfortunately, they are the only players in the game for some Colt stuff or I would never buy from them again. I wish Colt would pull their distributorship and give it to someone else. |

Can you change the gas tube without using the barrel tool and removing the nut? - Snake it from the upper receiver toward the front? I see AoA has the gas tubes for $25, figured I'd get a few with the tool, but curious if you really need the tools for doing a tube only swap. |

Pretty sure you just tap out the roll pin and back it out of the upper receiver, though I haven't tried it. |

Got mine today. When I ordered it a few weeks ago, I was fully expecting it to be a preorder so I'm not upset at the lag time (also I don't even own an M5 yet). I just wish AU would actually tell us that. Attached File Attached File |
