I've been watching out for it, but haven't seen any available yet

A seller ordering them is probably the issue. You might have to request a shop to order it for you. The piston items are very low demand in the U.S. market.

Lipseys has a 6940P carbine listed now.

https://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail?itemno=COLE6940P

UPC is 098289023261 if you like searching for those.  MSRP is 2250 which isn’t terrible in the piston market I guess.  Definitely got my eyes peeled!

I think I paid ~2100 in 2013 when I bought my 6940P.

All of my dealers suck around here. It's basically SW MP15s and Taurus crowd.

Anyone know if Colt made any changes to the 6940P or is it the same gun that was released back in 2012 or so?  Same piston system etc.

Arms Unlimited now sells what looks like a 9mm M5 upper. I assume this is the 6951 replacement mentioned in the OP.

That's pretty cool, but it seems very incomplete without the lower and BCG.  I'll wait and cross my fingers for the full release of the SBR.

Is the LE6960-CCU back? A lot of dealers have them listed, with the different Centurion rail and Magpul furniture in the stock photo.

The LE6960-CCU was a Talo exclusive. When Talo stopped buying the 6960, the product transitioned to the CR6960 which is what it currently is. The CR6960 has been available continuously. If you look at the product listing, you will see the CR6960 SKU.

The CR6960 has a standard A2 grip and standard carbine stock. Still mid-length gas system.

Sorry, I pasted the wrong link but I updated it.

The SKUs and UPCs are different. For example,

vs.

They could  certainly have some. I have been told some LE6960's shipped this month.

With Colt switching product SKU' (not serial #) from CR back to LE, it would make sense for the LE6960-CCU to return.

Awesome. I got one of the CCU upper kits when they were available and it’s fantastic.

If they would ship with the new Colt ambi lower…it’d be the best rifle Colt offers currently

I wonder if Colt was waiting for LMT's monolithic upper receiver patent to expire before shipping the LE6940P's.

No...the LE6940P has been available for years. Its just that nobody is stocking them. They are available for order from Colt resellers/distributors.
