| Another question I did not see addressed in the thread, nor the material from Colt, nor the AU listing. Do we know anything about the construction and materials used for the uppers and lowers? 6 or 7 series alloy? Forged? 6 or 7 series alloy handguard? Presume they are constructed the same as their 5.56 rifles, and the 901’s, but don’t want to assume. |

With no adjustable gas block I'm starting to lose interest. On Monday I ordered a much lighter AR10 that comes with a standard gas regulator. CZ/Colt could possibly have made that happen but didn't. I did get the strong impression the original M7 design has an adjustable gas block. Why, then will this release not have that feature? Because, now, more people own suppressors than ever. I think it makes sense to have adjustable gas. Though, I'm still excited Colt is putting the CM762 rifle back out. I'll have to wait and see if this latest rifle will really tickle my fancy before I buy another. |

Not to beat a dead horse, we are nearing years end and I haven't heard any more chatter. I've been curious as to what progress, if any, Colt has made towards a re-release. Does anyone have information on whether or not Colt is going forward with production bringing an M7 type rifle to its commercial/ civilian customer. Thank you kindly for revisiting this topic. |

A "re-release" wouldn't apply because the M7 hasn't been released on the commercial market yet. Unfortunately, for us impatient collectors, I anticipate our opportunity to get this will probably be delayed. The conflict in Ukraine and Israel, among others, is tying up Colt production. Hopefully we will still see something 1Q, 2024. I contacted AU a couple of weeks ago about price. They haven't nailed it down yet. So, the wait continues. I do think we will see them in 2024, I'm just not quite convinced that 1Q will be it. I hope it is though. |

I must be slow to the draw ...but wait ...$2995.00 price tag! I never saw an email notification - I'm signed on now. ... my question is this " The Colt M7 is a formidable tool for today’s small unit tactical military sniper or mid-range designated marksman. It is also capable of being fired utilizing a sound suppressor with both supersonic and sub-sonic ammunition." Is this statement true or is it false? Do not mis-read me, I'm well invested in Colt tools. Should the consideration be only from a collectors point of view, then aquire the example and save the box. However, I want to use my tool out of the box as it is purpose designed. Ambi-controls, the ability to change uppers is all great. The barrel nut is apparently better than the competition according to the description. I'm questioning how this 7.62x51 DI system will run suppressed without additional modification(s) by the end user. I'm skeptical, and this only because the gas system isn't adjustable. Eta: maybe a flow-thru designed silencer is the solution. |

What is new, different about the Colt M7? Is it essentially the same as the CM762-16s? I may want another rifle just for grins. AU appears to be out of stock right now. I would imagine they will get more at some point in the near future. 2) Is the CM762-16S /M7 exclusive to AU? Answer: Currently yes, that is a true statement. Will any other retailers have them in the future? I don't know. One thing I have learned collecting Colt over the years is "Never say never". The other lesson I have learned is if you want it, and can afford it, you better buy it when you see it because you may not get another opportunity. Keep in mind that there are still no spare parts for these available commercially. |

Second hand info but I trust the source. FYI…they don’t have any rifles on hand and they don’t have an ETA. I’ve defended AU and they’ve gone to great lengths to assist me in the past but to take thousands of dollars from people and not have the product is terrible business. |

They did this to me earlier this year on a pistol purchase. I was patient at first, but after 2 weeks I raised the bar a bit and they said my FFL had it. Which was not true, so I started threatening CC charge back. It finally shipped with an actual tracking number that was tracking. I was not happy, something is not right. |

When I buy from AU, I don't have expectations. Everybody approaches their buying experience different. I have got stuff fast in the past, I have received things very slowly. Its never been predictable other than I know they will follow through and deliver. They bring stuff to the market that nobody else has. I am always grateful for that. They are a small business and have had sick staff lately. I knew when I bought mine that I just needed to sit back and let the process work itself out. |

Being in business myself, I find that it's not difficult to provide good customer service. The primary thing that you have to do is just care and instill it in your employees. I do find that I get disappointed when it's obvious that others choose not to put forth the same effort. AU definitely has to have unique offerings because their customer service, accuracy of their item descriptions and honesty regarding product ratings certainly won't keep them in business. |

I'm not that deep into real Colt collecting, but I get it. With your other 901 base rifles you should have some interchangeable parts. Today was actually just looking inside my safe(s) wondering what I'll eventually decide to do with it all. For now I haven't shot my M5 or M45A1. I plan on going to my range tomorrow & may bring the M7 with me. I have a spare BCG for it. I'd like to compare my CM762-16s with the rifle Colt is releasing now, are there any differences. |
