Everything I had read and researched led me to believe they're supposed to be around 0.070". That's why I was hoping someone who had purchased one from Thoroughbred Armament could verify the ones they're selling have a 0.070" gas port size. They don't seem to like responding to emails or inquiries. I guess if no one can give me a definitive answer, I'll have to go with the Centurion Arms FBI barrel when I find one in stock. |

If they can't respond through their normal channels, then I'm not sure I want to order anything from them anyways. If they can't respond to emails or inquiries via their website, I don't have any confidence that I'd be able to get a hold of them if something was wrong with an order or item that would need to be returned or exchanged. I guess I'll have to keep searching for a place that sells them that can answer questions and verify GP size. |

I was hoping someone who had purchased from Thoroughbred recently, would chime in and say what their GP size is. If for nothing else, for curiosity at this point. I guess I may have to go the BRT gas tube route. Thanks. |

Ok, just did a quick check with the pin gages. .070 dropped right in, good amount of wiggle. .072 dropped in, less wiggle, but still there. .075 did not fit. So it's bigger than .072, but smaller than .075. Most likely .074 as the other barrels. I ordered this on 8/16 when they popped back up in stock. |

It looks like 0.074" is the gas port size they are coming with. The part number that both AU and Thoroughbred seem to be selling is 402251. I wonder if the ones that came with the smaller gas port have a different part number. It would be a good thing to know. |

Just figured I'd add an update. I finally received the 11.5" standard profile barrel I've had on order from Brownells since last summer (6933 commando stripped barrel P/N 401065). I checked the gas port and it's the same as the 11.5" heavy barrel I bought from AU. .072" fits .075" does not fit So I figure this barrel is .074" also. |
