Just received an upper from PSA and the lug is machined way off center (also entire upper had some kind of grit inside and out, nitride finish looks "thin", and the free float guard looks like a blend). This is the fifth upper from them that has had some kind of problem. QC needs to be more thorough. After returning this one for a refund, I think it's time to buy elsewhere.

Never had a single problem with PSA parts, I think my father and I own 8 or 9 of their guns between us.

I like PSA, but OP is right...QC needs to come up.  My Freedom Middy upper had a canted gas tube today, no worries I just put it in my block and vise and fixed it....the real problem was that the barrel nut had almost NO torque on it.....my wrench alone just easily spun it off...almost zero effort.  The min torque spec was not even close to being met.

I build these things so no worries...but for the newb it could be problematic.
