I just got back my Mk18 upper from DD and was putting all the accessories back on when I noticed something odd.  The T-1 on that particular rifle was off, and as I was turning it back on I wasn't getting a dot.  I could see some illumination, but I didn't get the dot until I cranked it all the way up to 10 (I didn't try any NVG settings with my 14).

So I just assumed the battery must be low and put in a fresh 2032.  But it does the same thing - a hot dot at 10 and a bloomed (too bright) dot at 11.

Is that a warranty issue, or could I possibly have a batch of bad/old/weak batteries (I have a bulk pack of Energizer 2032s, showing 2012 mfr date)?

I just sent an R-1 ( stainless micro) in for a similar issue: Mine would drop to a brightness of about setting #4 when put on setting #9. In daylight, I'd lose the dot very easily. I tried fresh batts and rotating the knob repeatedly with no change in results. I have not heard from them at all yet, but they got the package on Monday.

I'd contact them for an RMA# and send it in.

Thanks, I will do that after I get some other rebates and RMA stuff sent in.

It's been about a month, and no word from Aimpoint on my R-1, and no package returned yet. I assume it's on the slow boat back to or back from Sweden. Hopefully they notify me before they ship it back so I can watch for the package.

I've got a Micro H-1 back for a similar issue right now. I did have one of my T-1s do the same...... from what I understand, the rheostat voltage controller has gone bad. The good news is that it usually does not need to be shipped back to Sweden for the repair. It's done here in the USA.

Due to the date of the OP, hope yours is already back in your hands.  Post is for others that might have a similar problem.

I just experienced the same issue with a T1 that is a few years old, but not abused.  Even with new battery, the dot only visible on 10 and above.  Crap, and it's on my duty gun too.  What is aimponts warranty?  Am I looking at a few month turn around?

Any more info on this issue?

I just broke out a rifle I hadn't touched in at least a year, probably more like 2.  The older T1 gave me a super bright dot and a ton of bloom at the highest setting, nothing anywhere else.  Tried a new battery, and got the same thing.

Just contact Aimpoint?

What's the usual turnaround?

Just an FYI, I sent mine in, it required a new circuit board, which meant a trip back to Sweden.  It was about 2 months from the time I shipped it out until I had it back in hand, works fine now.

I'm sorry, I forgot to come back and update this.  I did send mine it, it also went to Sweden, and turn around was about 6-8 weeks.

I had Agency rifles equipped with H-1 and H-2's. At the time I had about 160 units. I had about 8-10 Sight's do this in the H-1 series. It's the rheostat that goes on them. It's likely covered under warranty. Aimpoint is VERY good at covering their products. All were replaced/repaired under warranty.
