18" SPR Barrel - Back in Stock 4/14! (Page 1 of 5)

I just got a Patriot Valley Arms (close to you guys) 16" barrel and put it in this build to try to get even more accurate than the Geissele 16" that was in it. The PVA has maybe 300 rounds through it. The MK5HD arrived Wednesday and my mount arrived last night. Haven't even zeroed it yet. Now I have an order in for an 18" SPR barrel for this build... I absolutely want one of these. Unfortunately have to wait until another vendor to get them since I’m in a state that can’t order direct from G. @GACS are these going to any vendors? One of the guns in that avatar could use a new barrel! Also, if you have any recommendations on ammunition these like….Im all ears!! |

Purchased and then cancelled my order for one of these barrels once learning it was 5/8x24... should've read closer before I sent it. While I own an AEM5, was hoping to have a use for a 556 SureFire Mini2 sitting unused on a shelf and figured this would be a great way to try out the barrels and new gas system. Bummer, would be interested again if in 1/2x28... seems like these barrels are shooters |

| 5/8 is a superior thread for heavy barrels and should be standard where possible. I’d even go to 3/4 in a 5.56 if the barrel was heavy enough and muzzle devices available. It’s a no brainer with OPS since the muzzle devices are compatible with each other regardless of thread and bore size. |

I’m sort of surprised that the 18” came out so fast. My Cola rifle is currently a 18” stainless fluted barrel with 5R rifling. I was tempted to get this and then go for a matching AEM suppressor. Will consider it in the future if they become a standard item. |

Everything should have 5/8 threads. If you could order some Surefire 5.56 muzzle devices in 5/8 that would be excellent. |

Some designs "sandwich" on, just to be safe we are cautioning against them until we have more feedback. We just want to set you up for success. When you unbox the barrel you will see the phases, and it will help paint the picture. We hope to get more SCGB's back in stock soon. Instant buy for me if geissele ever did a 16" with an OPS profile shelf on the barrel like ballistic advantage (aero) does. |

Attached File Got mine shot today…didn’t have too much time, but that is 100 yds with Black Hills mk262. The low round was a zeroing shot…had to move a scope onto this upper. Neighborhood of 1/2” is very pleasing. Attached File That’s Hornady 75 gr TAP T2. I was shooting through a little mirage at that point…but it’s still a decent showing. Attached File That’s the rifle. JP silent recoil system, G gas block, and an Energetic Armament Ferox on the end. I was very impressed by how soft the recoil was. The ejection was 3-3:30 suppressed. I am very happy so far….can’t wait to get a more suitable piece of glass on it! |
