First time out with the 7.62 tOBR this weekend. Went out yesterday while fighting a brutal stomach bug. 5 shots to get it on target. Shots 6, 7, and 8 out of the rifle actually outshot the shootist. I couldn't hold it anymore. I told the Mrs. to finish the last mag while I went to puke. I should have told her not to shoot my target. I came back to find the target shot full of random holes. I couldn't do anything about it, it was time to go home.
I slept on the couch most of today. Finally, my curiosity got the best of me. I couldn't take it anymore. I grabbed the tOBR, a few targets and a couple of boxes of PPU 145gr fmj. Not the best ammo, but all I have right now. Here are the results: .753 moa 
I'm getting ammo, getting healthy and coming back for sub .5 moa. |

Weather is finally getting nice here in Helotes. Took the new 14.5" 5.56 tOBR out to the Bullit Hole. Threw some Black Hills Match 77gr down range using a NF NXS F1 3.5-15 with H58 reticle, Harris bipod on LaRue swivel mount and rear bean bag.
She didn't disappoint. Clearly room for improvement on my part. Here's the raw target:

I finally remembered to bring photocopies of my test target to the range. Today was a decent day. The top two three round groups were first groups of the day and I figured that I should go right to the test target which was the third group after a few 1/10 mil corrections. I am still working on building the cash reserve for a MK6 but it keeps getting raided for "needs". I also trued it at 500 yards on a 6"x6" plate with 3.1 mills in elevation with 1.1 mil wind full value right to left. There were consistent hits on the plate although I was fighting changing winds. This is an awesome rifle!

I was an unlucky sole. I had a five shot proof target from the early run of 16" OBR's. After a few attempts with different ammo and one off flyers I can say I finally beat my Larue shooter. 175 FGMM outshined the Blackhills match 175 today. This was done with a Nightforce 2.5x10x32 mounted on it. I've abused this rifle for 5 years now. It performed better for me today than it did out of the box.    Editted for additional pics. No rubber duckys were displaced in this production. |

As promised I took the new tOBR out today to get it zeroed. Didn't have the best showing since I was shooting off of an uneven bag (forgot my sand sack), couldn't get a nice hold on target, was bent over at a table since the new range I went to didn't have a proper bench setup and I didn't mount my scope level  , but I think I may have outshot the shootist. I'm on an Apple, can someone with the software please do the measurements for me? Thanks!

Nothing to blame but me on this one Mark! I knew it when I did it on each group (pushing with shoulder, bad trigger manipulation, all me!). I have been away from the gun for too long and need to give myself a refresher on the basic mechanics. Before I go out next time I will order the Accuracy 1st rear bag, plus I think I'll try to drop the magnification down as I was letting my pulse distract me. Oh well, that's the fun of going out again!!!!
eta - I wound up shooting about 7 - 5 shot groups and was continually mucking up one of the rounds, again - all me, nothing with the equipment! |

Looks like I FINALLY get to join the ranks.
Test group read .861 Grease ring to grease ring measured 0.880 with the LaRuler. 0.880 - 0.308 = 0.572 
The ammo used was some of my home-rolled 175gr SMKs with Reloader 15, Winchester match primers & some old CBC cases. Now...... if I could just get that damed MOA challenge

Well, I finally had a chance to attempt some groups, and put this one up on my second try. I'm not good at shooting groups, never done it much, (though I'm working on it) but this tOBR sure makes it easy to stack them up; even if you aren't doing a great job behind the gun. Thanks Mark and your crew for putting together such a great rifle.

Had a relaxing day. Sighted in my 20" OBR to a different load so I shot on paper. While this OBR is a pre-larue barrel one, it just proves how nice an ol' OBR shoots
5 round sight in 
6 rounds at 100 meters (4 center and I messed up 2.... Damn mirage, that's my story)
