I think it would be the perfect thing to put on my saiga for turkey hunting, is it possible/recommended?

Sure, it would work fine. You will probably want to get the low mount though (Hunting version).

VortexSam - have you fired one mounted on an UltiMak?

Can it survive the heat of the gas tube mount?

Mine is en route, its going directly on my arsenal on an ultimak, but it will probably be a week from today before I can get it to the range

No, I haven't fired one on an Ultimak. Interested to see DocD's results though!

Just got back from vacation.
Sorry I took so long; I'll start a new thread sooon, but short verson is the Strikefire did not get cooked by the Ultimak and held up just fine

Heat is what kills optics, the eotech is more susceptible due to the battery placement. I will presume that this would work fine on an ak, and the only concern I have is getting cowitness....
