| Anyone have any experience with Nexus .260? I found some range pickups after MDM range day and was thinking maybe Mark was shooting them, but I've not heard of anyone shooting them. A guy on the Hide has primed Nexus brass for sale at 0.70 a case (loaded rounds that he pulled and emptied. |

Friday boredom - I weighed some Lapua 139gr Scenars - very consistent compared to the Sierras, FWIW. They ranged from 138.64grs to 139.12grs, but the dispersion was far less than the SMKs (pay no mind to the tags, I reused them from another session).
ETA - Yes, I understand a grain is very light (437.5 to the ounce) and the differences between any of the items I've weighed (generally being within a grain), just isn't that much, but I need to keep this thread alive somehow.  Come on people, get out and do some more shooting!
My Peterson SRPs shipped, but no luv until next week. RL-23 ordered, but I haven't even received a shipping notice, so it could be a slow next week. I did close a deal on 100 of the Warner flatlines, but I'm thinking those will be reserved for the 260 bolt gun.

You thinking that the BTO with the flatline wont fit in the Tobr chamber?
I was hoping that it wouldnt be too constrained, it might fit mag length but then there is a bad jump or compressed powder or a combo of less than ideal parameters. It would be so cool if it would work in the tobr. |

Lurking in this thread still here, haven't spent much time shooting or reloading due to keeping busy trying to get my machine shop space in order (and reloading space). Started on bench clean up by building some custom storage, all the reloading gear is now not all over the bench... but now the bench is currently covered in electronics and DRO parts lol Hope to get back to messing with the 260 stuff and fitting that $90 308 barrel once I make a t-nut for my tool post grinder (not sure if I posted this pic or not... right after I put the new wall unit up)

I weighed the Peterson SRPs and found their spread to be a bit more than the Alpha or Lapua. We're talking grains so it's not much of a spread.
The Peterson SRPs went from 174.22 - 176.62.

L - R = Nosler 123 CC; Warner FL; Berger 130 OTM; Norma 130 GT; H130 ELDM; Sierra 130 TMK; Lapue 130 Scenar; Barnes 140; Nosler 140 RDF; H120 HPBT; Sierra 140 HPBT; Sierra 142 MK and H147 ELDM. Pay attention to some of those factory meplats.  WFL length vs Nosler 140 RDF 
A quick ogive measurement: 
A sacrificial FL dummy loaded to 2.880: 
A FL loaded to 2.800 by a Hornady 130 ELDM that is probably 2.790, and showing possible length in the case that could compress the charge: 
Sacrificial FL has a ring from the stem, I need to see if I have a VLD stem.

Alright guys,it has been a long journey to getting my 260 ready to shoot long range,I'm down to the final component in the process----scope mount.
So far i have the 260 tobr with a 22" barrel and a 18" barrel,2 cases of hornady eld and 2 cases of prime,along with a nightforce 5-25 atacr with a moar -t reticle. So I'm thinking on a tobr i would want a 20moa mount? What do you guys think? My boss has a gravel pit where we can stretch it's legs out to 12-1300 yards. I'm currently looking around my spare parts bin as i thought i had a obr mount in 34mm extra but im not sure that is the best mount for this setup. Also noticed that eurooptic has Barrett bors systems at close out pricing around 50% off so maybe a bors system? The only drawback i see to bors is the Barrett mount,all my other guns sport larue qd's Any input from the seasoned 260 guys? Thanks Pete |
