Took a drive down to Green Top and Bass Pro. GT had some 4831SC and the 450 primers, also bought some 142ge SMKs and some Bergers. Bass Pro really didn't have much, but I bought some Sig ammo to try, which I think is made by Winchester. No RL23 at either and no pics, I haven't sneaked it into the house yet since HH6 is hanging out at home.  Also stopped at Gander Mountain not realizing they are closed pending the remodel to Gander / Outdoor World or whatever. Maybe they'll have more stuff at better prices.
ETA - Looks like the Sig ammo is actually made in Kentucky. |

No I would not load a 140 class to those speeds in this rifle. I am looking forward to trying this combo and different bullets for sure. |
I was stir crazy yesterday after spending so much time inside updating my resume, job searching, arguing with VA unemployment, etc., etc., so I took a little road trip down Richmond way to visit Greentop and Bass Pro. It killed a few hours and at least got me out of the house. Picture of the claimed booty including some Sig 77gr OTMs and Sig 6.5CM. I forgot I bought that PayDay bar.
Headed over to Home Depot to see if they still had any of the special buy Ryobi dual, high capacity battery packs. I found the last one in the store tucked away where it didn't belong, and used my mil discount and gift card FTW! Also, kudos to H/D for thinking of those who served: 
I think I'll spend sometime today developing a reloading components spreadsheet or database; it's cold and rainy outside, so that may be a good use of my time.

MidwayUSA has 260 Lapua brass on clearance for $85 / 100, normally it's $105 / 100. |

Took the LT260 out again with mixed results at 1K yards. Still a good time and good practice.
Did have good results with my loads in a Grendel at 500 yards :) I'm about to start reloading for this rifle and browsed the OP for links within this thread. Didn't find what load seems to work best with H4350, Hornady 130 ELD-M's, and Lapua brass. D3 is that data in this thread somewhere? I thought you used these components, did you just use the data on Hodgsons site, 39.7 to 42.7gr's? And should we load in .3gr increments? I'll probably start with once fired Hornady brass, then use the Lapua. How many loads are people getting with these 2 cases? |
