My better half needs some suggestions for video editing software. She is putting together a video that will have photos, sound/music, footage and graphics. She is willing to buy a good package, but the ease of use and price will both need to be acceptable.
So, what are the best packages for putting together the video? I've seen some pretty good stuff on Youtube, I hope someone here knows. No, we don't have a Mac, this needs to be for a PC. G` |

Vegas or Adobe Premiere Elements. |

Ditto these choices. |

Not a heavy hard core pro type user but the imovie and finalcut for the mac is good. for the pc - I've used adobe premier and windows movie maker but my current favorite and the easiest to use is PowerDirector. Not pro level by any means but great for what you need it for per your description.
DD edit: KD beat me to it! |

I have a question and not to high jack the thread but it might help as well with some info.
I have used the Pure Digital Flip (Hate these camera they are junk) and Im now using a Kodak Zi6. I wanted to know if there is a way to convert the files over to use on windows movie maker or any of these programs that you guys are recommending. I have a bunch of videos on youtube but I can not make a movie using what I have due to the file format they are in. I think they are saved to AVI I could be wrong on that. I will look into these programs everyone is recommending as I like to make movies and would love to do more with what I have as well right now. |

HERE is the link for supported file formats for WMM for XP. check the codex of the films you have as well. if all else fails you can get a video converter and convert your videos to something else. you can find the converters free if you look around. |
