Considering this is gun hating CT, I wonder if even that would have been enough to avoid catching charges. There is probably some Democrat politician and or anti gun group out there who would make the case that the home owner should be responsible for ensuring all firearms are securely stored, even though the gun is owned by someone else, because that person who owns the firearm(s) is living under the home owners roof.
