Anybody know the pin size for the front sight assembly.  The two that hold it to the barrel and the gas tube pin.  My great deal-upper was minus a few things (like a firing pin, cotter pin, and bolt key)  Any help on the pin size with save me time at the hardware store.  Thanks!

the two pins that hold it to the barrel are actually taper pins... dunno if you can find those at a hardware store

here are the taper pins:  e-gunparts.com/product.asp?chrProductSKU=197070B&MC=

and here's the roll pin for the gas block (you can probably find it much cheaper at a hardware store (don't know the dimensions)

The pins holding the front sight tower onto the barrel should be taper pins, not roll pins.

I suggest mail ordering the parts from a reputable firm - by doing so, you'll spend less time, and possibly less money.  www.dpmsinc.com/store/index.aspx?cat=1798 shows the gas tube roll pin sells for $0.25, and taper pins going for $0.75 each.  While shipping & handling on small orders typically jacks the cost up, you're probably ordering enough parts to offset that.

occasionally, smaller outfits might just throw stuff in a little padded envelope and mail it out.

Not to sound like a salesman, but CMMG sent me small parts a few times and shipping
was but a $1 or so.

Can't hurt to ask!

I think it's important to point out that the taper pins go in only one way, but I don't remember which.  You should be able to tell by examining the holes, but most seem to go in from right to left.

ETA:  Please don't think I'm disparaging your knowledge in any way.  We had a member recently take his brake off without knowing that it was pinned and welded in place, causing severe damage to his barrel.  A quick tip like mine could have saved alot of headaches.
