Storm just hit Lynchburg, that first wind blast was pretty awesome. If you are to the east of me, you might want to gather up any loose items. We already have a trash can, pool float and giant umbrella from somewhere. No damage to speak of yet, but we are hearing of power outages around here.

Been watching the radar and it simply evaporated as it approached the DC area.  Some passed north and hit Leesburg and it looks like a lot of people south of us got it but I didn't get a single drop of rain or more than a stuff breeze of wind.

Lots of reports of downed trees around here.    I won't be home for another hour to check on my place.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I was expecting it to be worse than it ended up being here. After that initial leading edge and about five minutes of wind went by, it wasn't any worse than any other storm, really.

Was at the gas station and got about 5 minutes of wind a rain. The radio was telling me to get off the roads and go for cover. Went home, ate dinner and watched the sun come out. No storms around here.

I was in the workshop cutting foam at work when the first blast hit. A shower of sawdust and styrofoam pieces hit me in the face and I had to bust out the emergency eye wash...fun stuff

Initial blast of wind knocked over an empty rain barrel and blew dust from my gravel parking lot all over everything.

0 damage, 0 hail, 0 lightning

Weather gets a 1/10

30 minutes of high winds followed by 30 minutes of heavy rain...I'll give it a 3/10

Last I heard is about 10,000+ people out of power each in Lynchburg, Campbell and Bedford counties.

Not even a disturbed leaf in my yard.

We had a lot of dust and coal in the air here. Lots of wind and darkness in the air, then sun, then a little more darkness, then just a little bit of rain.

Wow, I'm 8 miles north and we had a sprinkle for a few minutes and that was it.

In New Kent County (yes, we're in the corn fields...)

Power went out Thursday afternoon ~4:45pm and stayed that way for 51 hours, nearly to the minute.

Weird.. I'm in NK also and we never lost power and the storm was much ado about nothing at my house.

Lots of trees down in Nottoway and Prince Edward, not much other damage. Sporadic power outages, for example my house kept power all weekend, but three blocks away my work was out of power for 24 hours.

This area is a weird hodge podge of Dominion and Southside power lines, two different companies often in the same neighborhood.

Gotta love being in the sticks...

We're off "5-minute road" and there were lines down closer to the rte. 30 end that were back in the trees.
