Hello...

Can a Springfield TRP 1911 be transferred to a Maryland FFL from an online purchase (other out of state FFL).  I know kimber 1911s have to have the fired shell casing in order to be maryland compliant.  does this apply to springfield too?  thanks

Springfield TRP's are fine in Maryland. If it's new you'll need the shell casings. New or used it will need a lock at the dealer.

You are supposed to be OK.  Check with the FFL 1st.

Why?

Because a friend ordered a Kimber 1911 marked "10/8 Forums Special Edition"  and the dealer told him "the 10/8 model is not on the MD roster so this pistol is banned in MD." Seriously.

Some dealers in MD are smarter than others. Check 1st.

Among other FFLs, Duffy's Guns (Falls Rd. at Black Rock Rd., Upperco, MD) will submit the shell casings to MSP.
