Is there anything I need to know before removing the trigger guard roll pin for my Colt AR? I've read it's easy to break the polymer where the pin is but I don't know.  Also can the same roll pin be used to go back in? I should be able to just tap it out right?

you need to support the underside to keep from breaking the tab off; and yes, the same roll pin can be used as long as it's not to beat up

whoops.........didn't see it was a plastic lower; I don't know anything about them except they melt when you leave them too close to the campfire

Nope it's metal...I don't know why I typed that. Prolly cause I was reading the post about the CavArms lowers. Blonde moment I guess.

Use the proper sized roll pin punch to do the job right. No need to use a big hammer, either –– just a series of quick taps with a regular mallet to dislodge it and then to knock it out.

Most likely a 3/32" punch will fit it... Just light love taps
