Does anyone have experiance with the Lee turret reloading kit like this?  Also what else would I need besides dies other than brass, powder, etc...?

http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=54871

I'm looking at getting into reloading but have little to no experiance with it and I thought for the price and what you get isn't to bad.  My use would be for 9mm, .40 .44 45acp, 25-06 and 257 roberts.

Thank you for your help,
Bob

Hi, I think you may be better off with a press from RCBS, Redding, Hornady etc.  I just don't like Lee presses.  I have been using a RCBS rockchucker single stage for years now and it has never let me down.  I also own the bottom of the line (cant remember what they call it) Lee single stage and it is complete junk!  I bought it on sale from Midway for like $30 and I don't think its worth that.  If you can, go to a dealer that sells many brands. They usually have each model set up so you can pull the handle and get a feel of what each press is like.  You will feel alot of slop with a Lee and almost none with RCBS etc,  Lee makes some great products but not the presses IMHO.

I don't know what that kit comes with but you will need a trimmer for rifle brass, a deburr tool, some kind of powder dispencer, a tumbler is nice to clean brass, a caliper to measure brass, and as many manuals as you can afford. There are many more things to make it faster or easier but these will get you started.

One thing to think about is if you don't like reloading and you decide to sell everything you will get almost what you paid it if you go with better equipment.

Check out the reloading section for more opinions but be ready for all the Dillion pushers.  They can be a nasty bunch!

Flamethrower will be along shortly to help.  He is the local Lee expert!

The Lee stuff is just fine for reloading.

I'm planning on aquiring the Lee Classic turret and periferals this weekend from Cabela's of all Places. Cheaper than Midway and worked out close enough to Kempfs for me to call it a draw on the Price with out figuring the shipping.
The Lee classic turret is a Cast Iron press,That will automajically index the dies, or you can disable the feature and index manually  the Lee turret or Deluxe is AL.

i'm sure this will get motivated.

do you have a few manuals??? you should. listed is the equipment needed and equipment that makes reloading easier. all depends on the $$$$

reloading is fun.
and makes shooting a heck of a lot cheaper.
i enjoy reloading more than shooting at times.
if you are going to be doing volume(thousands of rounds at a time) i would strongly recommend a dillon 650.
if you are a bench rest guy, then a single stage or lee turret press will fit the bill.

I used to do a TON of shotshell reloading, over 100000 rounds in 20 years. we shot a lot. But have NO clue about loading rifle shells. And I want to learn, prices keep going up on shells, and I know handloads can and often shoot better groupings. Can anyone give me a list of what I would need to get to load shells. I have some old brass, but it's pretty tarnished. So start with some kind of tumbler? And where does a guy go from there? I see casings offered with crimped and not crimped something or others... HELP!

What caliber do you want to reload for and what is your budget for all of the equipment and such? Loading for volume or prescision or both?

I will put up a list in a little bit. I have a buch of work to do. Your input will help.

Mostly 223. As far as what type of shells I want to load? Would like to be able to load a TON of shells just to shoot with. But as things progress maybe be able to make some hot/match loads. I have an assortment of ar's, and a really awesome bolt that I just duracoated. finishing it today. I babble..... What's my budget? No clue. I have a buddy who wants to go into it with me. What do you think? 500? 700? I guess if I knew what the low and the high is I could go from there. Thanks again for your help.
