Being the tinkerer that I am and a minor accuracy nut, I'm playing with the Bushy ORC to see what it'll do. Loads with this thing have pretty much run the gamut with loads from nothing short of awful to excellent.
I had time last Sunday to shoot a half dozen loads for accuracy with this rifle (I had other toys to shoot too) and the best group was 0.736" at 100yds. I do believe I can live with that. I had another group that shot 0.894". The one group I'm not sure what to make of shot 0.445" with a flyer that opened it up to 1.447". Think I'll re-shoot that one to see if it's me or the load. As it stands, this rifle has 3 or 4 loads that will shoot sub MOA. Now I have to pick one... As of last week, I added a YHM Std. Wt. FF tube to this rifle to see if it made a difference in accuracy and it did - sorta. The most accurate load prior to the switch shot about the same, no worse, no better. What I did notice is that the rifle as a whole seems more consistently accurate. Prior to the FF tube, groups with different powders but with the same bullet would shoot from sub MOA to over 2.5 inches. Now the rifle doesn't seem to have that issue. It still shows a clear preference for powders though. I'll post a chart for this rifle tomorrow AM with the latest info. There are 33 different loads shown. |
