It was a long time in coming and what ever his sentence is, it won't be nearly enough. Where was all this interest in prosecuting corruption thirty years ago. Mike Madigan and the "Chicago Machine" were two of the major reasons I left Illinois back in 1993. Gary |

Fire all the engineers and replace the with technicians who do not require a degree and presumably those positions would be filled by political friends. All design plans would be farmed out to consultants. Thankfully the Federal Highway commission got wind of this before it happend. they informed Blago if he went through with his plan Illinois would not receive any federal highway funding. 2. Moving part of IDOT to Harrisburg. As a payback to former D state senator and then IDOT employee David Phelps so his drive would be shorter. Not long after Phelps "retired" because if he had not he would have been fired for ethical violations. 3. Selling District 9's office to CMS. Now IDOT pays $20,000/mo in rent to CMS. IDOT pays rent on a building they built decades before CMS existed. |
