And Im not talking about a knob polisher. I want to get an old barrel of mine chromed. Any place in Tacoma or Bremerton? |
Yup. If it's been fired, forget it. |

you are probably underestimating what it takes to chrome a barrel. We are not talking the chrome that you put on a bumper. Depending on the manufacturer some places that chrome the bores bore out a barrel blank and then fill it with chrome. Then cut rifling in the chrome. As for having it done. probably not gonna happen. If someone did do it for you then it would shoot out of the barrel with the first round and depending on how thick it was it could cause a severe overpressure situation and make your rifle kaboom. |
K, never mind, you do it.... |
Currently, ER Shaw uses acid to etch out the barrel. It is chromed back down to size. I'm sure they true it back up after the process. A custom stainless barrel would be cheaper, but probably not cheap. |

I do have a chrome plated m-38 that looks cool as hell. I know what you are thinking. "If I chrome the bore I wont have to clean so diligently after I shoot corrosive ammo!" You are wrong. Corrosive ammo will also eat through chrome, It just takes longer to do it. |
You had two !? |
