I take the DART light rail from Plano. From my place it is a 15min drive to the station. Parking is free. Then a 45min ride to dntn Dallas and it drops me off 2blks from my temp job. Beats driving and paying for gas and parking dntn. Everywhere I have lived I always took public trans. Specially when I lived in SoCal. Use to commute 65miles one way to dntn L.A. I know the TRE leaves somewhere dntn Ft Worth and stops in Grand Prairie somewhere and also somewhere in Irving (airport I think ) Then it drops you off at union station. From there you can catch the light rail anywhere dntn or westend. Monthly pass is $70.

My employer pays for half of my DART Gold Pass, so I pay $25/yr. Even though you're currently a temp at that company, any chance they'd pay or go half on a Gold Pass? The Gold Pass entitles you to discounts at various stores and restaurants located by DART Rail Stations. You also get to use the TRE, which runs Mon-Sat., to downtown Ft.W.
